It's easy to be organized when you have space. And walk in closet designs let you maximize the amount of space making it easy to get organized.

For many walk in closets off the master are a necessity.

Not only that if you are planning on putting your home on the market, it can make the difference between making the quick sale or having your house languish on the market for weeks.


Still you don't want an undersized space either. You're looking for at least four feet of depth at the least. Ideally the door should be situated not directly across from the bedroom entrance door either. In fact it shouldn't come in contact with that door at all.

Shelves should have a depth of at least 14 inches. That way the can accommodate larger stuff.

Plan the rods so they are far enough away from the wall yet high enough to work with long dresses and other longer items comfortably. Without having them drag on the ground.

And don't forget lighting. Full spectrum compact fluorescents will both save money and present the true colors of your clothing.
